Retired Major Dana Carr is a highly accomplished leader with 30 years of experience in law enforcement, including a year of experience in Corrections. She has demonstrated exceptional leadership in both operational and strategic roles. Over the course of her career, she has developed and implemented effective crime reduction strategies, leading teams through complex challenges while maintaining a strong commitment to community engagement. With 15 years of managerial experience overseeing personnel, facilities, and budgets, Carr has continuously demonstrated her ability to motivate, organize, and direct diverse teams toward achieving law enforcement goals. Her leadership as a Police Commander for over a decade has allowed her to execute high-level operations and community policing initiatives that have resulted in significant crime reduction in historically high-crime areas.
Carr’s commitment to leadership excellence is further supported by her impressive educational background. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Florida International University and two Master’s degrees—one in Administration from Barry University and another in Disaster Management from Florida International University. Her education, coupled with specialized training from prestigious institutions such as the FBI LEEDA and PERF, underscores her dedication to honing her leadership skills and expanding her expertise in critical areas of public safety and emergency management.
Retired Captian Ramon Carr has dedicated thirty years to law enforcement within the Miami community, embodying the spirit of law enforcement through grit and grace. His journey began as a public service aide, where he cultivated community ties, and progressed through the ranks, eventually serving as a police lieutenant commanding multiple specialized units. Each role honed his abilities in leadership, problem-solving, and strategic planning, allowing him to tackle the complexities of urban policing with unparalleled resolve. As a respected figure on the force, Ramon led high-pressure operations, transformed investigative practices with innovative techniques, and built cohesive teams that thrived under his guidance. His experience as a cold case homicide sergeant added depth to his analytical skills, administering justice while navigating the emotional landscape of crime. A seasoned communicator, he adeptly bridged gaps between the department and the community, ensuring transparency and trust. Ramon also served in the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), as an employee representative and made an enormous impact in his various roles within the Miami Community Police Benevolent Association (MCPBA), which is the second oldest African American police officer organization in the US.
